She is a doppleganger for my sister, except that her hair is fairer (dirty blonde) and she has blue eyes. My big sis has brown hair and hazel eyes (the eyes come from my dad). I have no idea where this blonde haired blue eyed beauty came from. If I remember correctly, neither her dad nor her mom's family (my family) has had a recent member with blue eyes. To top that off, my niece had a Korean grandmother!! I mean, compare that to Dean Cain, who has a Japanese grandparent. You can definitely see the asian blood in Dean. Not so much in my niece. I took plenty of pix but am not sure if I have permission to post them here. If I do get permission from sister, I will be updating this post with at least one foto at the top.
So anyways, I can't believe I have gone this long without posting a song by one of my all time favorite perfomers, Prince Rogers Nelson. He completes the triumvirate of music gods (at least for me). Michael Jackson, Madonna, and ...Prince.
The meaning behind this dedication is pretty straightforward. Maybe some day I will be able to post a picture of my beautiful, darling niece.
This song came out the same year that my mother died, 1995. (THE SAME YEAR THAT MICHAEL JACKSON'S "You Are Not Alone" CAME OUT featured in a previous post dedicated to my cat, IGNACIO (CLICK HERE TO LINK TO THAT STORY)). Some incredible music was coming out in 1995!!
ST was not born until a few years later. When I first heard this song, I assumed that Prince (then the symbol that no one could pronounce) was singing about his mate, Mayte. I couldn't imagine how special this girl would have to be, I mean the girl that Prince sang about in the song. Now, I have no doubts...
PEACE AND LOVE MT
