A 6TH LOOK BACK @ 2ND COUNTRY FAVE: "You Wouldn't Say That To A Stranger" by Suzy Bogguss

THE MESSAGE IN THIS SONG IS SO CLEAR AND TRUE.

http://www.toneii.com/Albums/Mike/Stranger57.mp3

When we meet someone for the 1st time it is nearly impossible to scar them with words in the way that we can with loved ones...

RESOLVE to guard our words as if they were weapons in 2011 and beyond...
(powerful video)

A 5TH LOOK BACK at ONE ORIGINAL MTV VIDEO FAVE: "Mickey" by Toni Basil

My ALL time favorite VIDEO.

I used to have fun imagining that Toni was singing to me.  While searching for

 this
video on YouTube, I found this.  This song is about this person apparently.

CHEERS!!

a rare 12" remix treat!!

A 4TH LOOK BACK at ALTERNATIVE CHOICES: "Army of ME" by Björk plus "Roads" by Portishead

Björk seems like a tiny little sprite. BUT WHAT A POWERHOUSE!!

"Army Of Me" appeared on the excellent TANK GIRL soundtrack.

Also from the TANK GIRL soundtrack, "Roads" by Portishead.
ANIME THAT PERFECTLY CAPTURES THE SONG.  SHIVERS!!

A 3RD LOOK BACK: "Diggin' Up Bones" by Randy Travis

Today I'm diggin' up bones.  Today I look back at some of my fave tunes from my fave genres.

"Diggin' Up Bones" by Randy Travis is one of my all time fave country songs.  Plus, the name fits my series of LOOK BACK posts to a "T".  Thanks, Randy!!

A MUST WATCH (especially the interview with Randy and Joan after the performance)!! a dose of NOSTALGIA for those of you who lived it // Randy on the Joan Rivers Show

And why not!! They mention "On The other Hand" At the end of the above clip.  It truly ranks as one of my top 5 Randy Travis songs.  Top 5 COUNTRY songs for that matter.

a real HOOT!!

A 2ND LOOK BACK: "O.P.P." by Naughty By Nature

Earlier this week I received my first follower on twitter.  YES, I opened a twitter account and you can keep track of me by following me at MusiconduiT (what else??) on twitter.

My first follower is an independent record label in Europe called LionDreamRecord.  Their blurb on twitter is: Lion Dream Records is a independent label launched in 2007 to better produce, manage and promote youngandtalented artists.Mostly specialize in hip-hop music.

I messaged them and told them I would be posting a hip hop record in their honor.  This is it.  One of my all time hip hop records.  And one of the earliest songs to break out of the rap mold in 1991.

a parody using the framework of O.P.P. to talk about the BP OIL DISASTER!!

A LOOK BACK AT AN ALL TIME DANCE FAVE: "Love To Do It" by The Ride Committee feat. Roxy

This New Year's Day I fondly recall one of my all time favorite dance tunes, "Love To Do It" by The Ride Committee feat Roxy.

SPEAKING OF CLICHÉS: AULD LANG SYNE

AULD LANG SYNE.  Does anyone remember this song??  We all do, but how many of us know of its origin and meaning?  Who knows what the phrase "AULD LANG SYNE" means (except for the Scotts)??  This song represents CLICHÉ to a "T"!!
