While the yard sale was going on, I thought about this song and found my CD single and showed it to my friends that were helping me out that day.
Last Millenium, I used to try to buy a CD every week. What I really mean by that is that I would go to Circuit City or Best Buy and check out the new releases and the rest of the selection, pick up several CDS and then try to limit myself to just one. I couldn't afford more than that. Sometimes I picked up 2 or 3 or more. Well, that was before the dawn of the digital age.
My old habit died, and the music industry has been losing business steadily over the past decade. CD sales have slumped, dropping around 10% every year. Digital sales have taken off in recent years, but in no way make up for the numbers the industry sold in the last millenium.
Please check this out to learn more about the music industry's misfortune in recent times.
For 2011 I resolve to return to my old habits, but this time I will be buying music from iTunes and Amazon.com and emusic. Digital Music. It doesn't overcrowd my apartment, AND it is good for the environment. Plus, there are great promotional deals on digital music all the time. As you may already know, iTunes and Amazon regularly offer free tracks. Amazon has a deal of the day that usually sells for $1.99 - $3.99.
In fact, Amazon is offering 10 top Albums of 2010 for $3.99 starting today and for a limited time. Artists included in the deal are Kanye West, Katy Perry, Black Eyed Peas, Josh Groban, Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire, Maroon 5, Ke$ha, Bruno Mars and Re-mastered Rolling Stones.
Do yourself a favor. If you buy these records your life will be better.
This record features a sample from "Material Girl" by Madonna.
